Final film trailer

Film - Trailer Filming with my villian actor

I did filming 2 days ago with my actor Jack and I got a few shots with him with a weapon, with these shots I have used them to fill in the part where it was needed. After this I will only need one more filming sessions before my film will be nearly complete.

I have planned to get a camera on tuesday to go out filming with Jack to fill in one of my scenes because I have a lot of frees on tuesday I also plan to get most of the clips that I have film edited.

On Friday I will be borrowing a camera from my teacher to go filming on Saturday to shoot a few more enviromental shots and with some of my actors.

I have done additional filming with my two characters that are acted by Jamie and Kyle, with these I have replcaed a few parts on the story board, so far this session of filming I have filled in 30% of my film storyboard, I have also got some enviromental shots.

Film trailer - Dialogue

For my trailer I will not have dialogue as I think that the sound that will be recorded on the camera will not be good so I am going to have a narration for parts of my trailer as I do not intended just to have no dialogue

I plan on doing more filming on a tuesday after school so that when we arrive to our location it will start becoming dark but if my actors can't do it on a tuesday after school I will have to arrange it on either wednesday or thursday.

For my environment shots I have mostly used trees and things hanging onto them, I think these are suitable for my trailer so far and combined with the sound effect that I can add to make them visually look better, Although for some of those shots I can reshoot so that the tree is moving.

The setting of my film trailer is dark and are mostly recorded when it is dark but some shots are in the day as I think that my trailer will need some shots with light in it because having day and night shows continuity.

For my props I am deciding to get a prop knife as I think that this weapon would suit a murderer and also I might get fake blood to put onto the knife and use it to make like someones bleeding, some other props that I have considered to use are masks.

Transitions -

• For most of my transitions I have used 'Fade to black' as I think that it is the most suitable transitions for my trailer. 
• Some other transition effects that I have considered is the 'Cross dissolve' and 'Cross blur' as I think those can fit correctly in my trailer because the way that they are transitioned its not flashy therefor it does not take away tension.

Video effects:

• I have used 'Day into night' as a video effect to make one of my clips look darker, I have used this effect because it made the clip darker which suits the horror theme
• I have used 'Flipped' on one of my clips because it seemed better when it was flipped, it showed better detail of the environment.

The music that I have chosen for my trailer is from a website that is not copy righted so it was fine to use the music that I have chosen on that website. I think that the music I have chosen fits my trailer correctly.

Changes to the Music/Sound effects:

• Instead of using Giant Wyrm that I have listed to use will probably change as I am changing up my stories pacing to be faster so I will have to use music that will suit a fast paced trailer

I will still require more shots with the camera and I am planning to get a camera off my teacher and go shoot on a friday as I have consecutive frees when I can do filming to finish off my trailer.

Locations

For my location I have chosen Tower grounds as it had an area with a lot of trees around which is what I needed in my film trailer. Some other locations I have in mind is the Cemetery as I think that it will be fitting in my film trailer, also some other buildings that I have considered to film are a Church.

For my storyboard I have drafted it from IMovie because it allows you to put in each scene and lets you decide how long they are and shows how long it is overall so when I finish my filming I can swap it in place with each of the frames and it also allows me to preplan the music and text / transitions that I am going to use in the trailer.

Film Trailer - Horror

Chosen genre - Horror

I have chosen the genre horror as it is not too hard to create a low budget horror trailer as it requires little CGI for a low budget horror trailer, most of the conventions in a horror trailer are blood, dark atmosphere and isolation, the thrill of a horror trailer is not just done through the camera the music has a big role in the thrill of the trailer as it builds up tension for the audiences. There are lots of indie horror movies that can be taken as an style model with all the conventions on it and is on a low budget so it can be easily followed.

I have chosen to do a trailer for a movie, as I already have researched some trailers before and how they can impact the film's success. By having an interesting trailer that does not spoil the film attracts the audience as they will want to see what is going on, especially for an low budget trailer as they have little to no fan base.
